Ergon Oil Purchasing (EOP) has an opening for a Field Operations Representative that will be based out of its Moon Township, PA office and be ideally located in West Virginia or Ohio.
This position works with the EOP field team in completing all necessary tasks related to the cultivating and managing business relationships within the oil and gas industry and securing crude oil supply for Ergon’s refining operations. The position’s primary focus will be working with the existing field team but also extends to EOP office team, Trucking and Transportation, Terminaling and trade organizations related to the oil and gas industry as well. The ultimate goal of the position is to increase the purchasing and crude oil supply in the Appalachian region to Ergon, Inc.’s refinery in Newell, WV.
This position works with managers within the assigned region to develop weekly plans to support field activities, engages in field activities such as tank strapping, site inspections and verifications, crude sampling and sample delivery, on site meetings with producers and service providers, and interacts with pumpers, supervisors, managers, etc. of regional crude oil producers within the region to help the field team ascertain production forecasts, drilling plans, possible merger, acquisition and divestiture activities.
The person selected will work to develop a strong understanding of producers’ decision making processes in how and to whom they sell their production, develop and maintain a strong understanding of industry marketplace dynamics, influences and forces and be able to provide regular insight to a changing and dynamic market, work within local trade organizations to support the oil and gas industry while representing Ergon, Inc. and its interests in the industry, and actively work to identify and cultivate business development and growth opportunities for Ergon Inc. and subsidiaries within the Appalachian basin.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or oil and gas-related science, a sales and marketing background, and experience in the regional Oil and Gas industry. The person chosen must be able to work independently with minimal direct supervision, have strong customer service and conflict resolution skills with the ability to make cold and warm sales calls, and work unconventional work hours outside of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., when required. The person selected must reside in the Ohio, Pennsylvania, or West Virginia area and be willing to travel primarily, but not limited to, the assigned market area.
