Ergon Refining in Vicksburg currently has an opening for a Process Control Engineer. This position programs, maintains, and strives to optimize all process control systems for the Refinery and Terminal locations.
The person chosen will configure and maintain all process control networks and associated documentation and all PCs, thin clients, and servers associated with process control networks, coordinate configuration and maintenance of all PLC control systems and HMIs, and work with Process Engineering and Operations groups to design, modify, and tune process control loops in DeltaV.
The person chosen will also manage and work with contractors on projects that involve DCS and PLC configuration, work with IEC and Project Engineering groups to install and troubleshoot new and existing devices, and ensure spare parts and equipment are available for the DCS and PLC systems throughout the plant including network hardware, I/O hardware, HMIs, and PCs.
A Chemical or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree and one (1) year of previous experience in process engineering, electrical engineering, process controls, or the equivalent, are required for this position. The person selected for this position must have successfully completed and passed a Functional Job Capacity Evaluation (FCE) and must complete a series of DeltaV trainings upon hire.
