Ergon Refining in Vicksburg is currently looking for an Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) Manager to provide guidance and leadership in administering the development, implementing, and documenting of all phases of the EHSS programs for Ergon Refining.
Accountabilities include maintaining adequate staffing for all disciplines in the EHSS department, developing and implementing the department budget, coordinating EHSS support for shutdowns and turnarounds, and providing advice and assistance to department managers to ensure department procedures adequately address EHSS needs in the refinery.
This position is also accountable for identifying, interpreting, and enforcing new and existing laws and regulations applicable to EHSS and developing, implementing, and maintaining EHSS programs and procedures that are applicable to the refining industry, and then ensuring their continuous improvement by evaluating the program’s effectiveness.
A Bachelor’s degree in a Safety or technical field, or a related discipline, with a minimum of ten years of EHSS experience in the refining industry is required. Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and U.S. Coast Guard regulations and other safety and security regulations relating to the refining industry are required. Good communication, leadership, and organization skills are musts.
